Hey, motives, how you doing out there, it's your girl Tone Motivates, and today I would like to chat with you about the power of positive affirmations. Now, one of the most influential motivational speakers that I absolutely love is Deepak Chopra, and one of his most popular quotes is you must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible. And I can listen to his books, his videos, his YouTubes all day, through and through. And we actually shared the same birthday, october 22nd. So you know, I was excited to hear that because it was just confirmation to me that who I am and my true identity is embedded in me and that I am called to motivate the masses while being transparent and walking the path of enlightenment myself. So that was all of the confirmation and motivation that I need. If y'all can't tell, I'm smiling because I was just so excited to learn that little piece of information and I didn't learn it until I was looking for that little fact that I always give you guys when we chat. So let's get right into it. So let me introduce y'all to positive affirmations.
Speaker 1:So, with positive affirmations, it's statements or phrases that assert positive truths or beliefs about oneself, aiming to promote a positive mindset and self-esteem. Now, the role of positive affirmations and self-love is to consciously and consistently reinforce positive thoughts and beliefs about one's worth, capabilities and potential. Now, by incorporating affirmations into daily routines, you're able to counteract negative self-talk, boost self-confidence and cultivate a more compassionate and loving relationship with yourself. Essentially, positive affirmations serve as a powerful tool to reshape one's inner dialogue and foster a mindset that supports personal growth, resilience and a deeper sense of self-love. So let's get into it Simply. The science behind affirmations and the impact on mindset involves how repeatedly saying positive things to yourself can influence your thoughts and feelings. When you consistently use positive affirmations, you're essentially rewiring your brain. So this process is linked to neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to form new neural connections. Affirmations activate neural pathways related to positive thoughts and emotions, so over time, these pathways strengthen, making it more automatic for your brain to lean towards positive thinking. So think of it like carving a path through a forest the more you walk a certain trail, which is the positive affirmation, the clearer and more well-defined the path becomes. Affirmation, the clearer and more well-defined the path becomes. This rewiring can lead to a more optimistic and self-compassionate mindset, helping you navigate life's challenges with a positive outlook. I'm going.
Speaker 1:So let's talk about tips for creating personalized and meaningful affirmations and the importance of using present tense and positive language. So in creating personalized and meaningful affirmations, it involves crafting positive statements about yourself that feel authentic and relevant. Here are some tips, explained simply so. Think about what it is that you need. Consider areas in your life where you want to boost confidence or self-love. Your affirmation should address these specific needs. Keep it positive and present.
Speaker 1:Use positive language and frame your affirmations in the present tense. So, instead of saying I will be confident, say I am confident. Okay. This helps your mind focus on the positive aspects as if they were happening right now. Now make them specific. Be clear and specific about what you want to affirm. It's about self-love. Specify aspects you appreciate about yourself. For example, I love and accept myself, including my uniqueness, my weirdness, my unicornness, all of those stuff. That's all positive connotations to me, and I make sure to hold them dear to my heart.
Speaker 1:Keep it simple, guys. Use words that resonate with you and are easy to remember. Simple affirmations are more likely to stick in your mind and become a natural part of your thinking. Repeat them regularly. The power of affirmation lies in repetition. Repeat your affirmations regularly, especially during moments of self-doubt. Repeat them regularly. The power of affirmation lies in repetition. Repeat your affirmations regularly, especially during moments of self-doubt or when you need a confidence boost. So I even write them down. I have a list that I look at every night before I go to bed. It's the first thing that I see in the morning. You can put it in a little notebook, you can put it on a sticky note, put it in your purse, your or whatever, or just memorize them so anytime you're feeling down or you feel yourself snowballing in a direction that you don't want to be, you can bring yourself right on back, all right. So let's keep it moving. Let's talk about daily affirmation practices. You need to integrate affirmations into morning and evening routines, creating a habit of positive self-talk throughout the day.
Speaker 1:Affirmations for self-love and confidence. So specific affirmations to boost your self-esteem and confidence can be used, and these address common challenges in practicing self-love through affirmations. So, with affirmations for self-love and confidence, there are specific affirmations that you can use to boost your self-esteem and confidence. There are specific affirmations that you can use to boost your self-esteem and confidence. So, for self-worth, you can use things like I am worthy of love and respect. For self-confidence, you can use I believe in my abilities and express my true self with confidence. For self-acceptance you can say I accept myself completely, including my flaws and my strengths. For self-respect I honor my needs and make decisions that are best for me. Inner strength I have the power to overcome any challenge. For positivity I radiate positivity and attract positive experiences into my life. Okay, for growth every day I am becoming a better version of myself and please believe that, guys, as long as you are striving to do better than you were doing yesterday, you are becoming a better version of yourself. For deserving you can use. I deserve success and happiness because, honey, we all do. For self-love I am proud of who I am and who I am becoming. For gratitude I am grateful for my journey and the person I am today. So all of these things can be tweaked. There is no wrong way. Literally sit down and decide what it is you want to write and what you want to affirm, and just stick to it.
Speaker 1:So now let's address common challenges and solutions in practicing self-love through affirmations. So first, with consistency, the challenge could be you have difficulty in maintaining a regular practice. The solution could be to set a specific time each day, like morning or bedtime to repeat your affirmations. Believability the challenge could be feeling skeptical about the affirmations. Your solution could be start with small, believable affirmations and gradually build up to more significant ones. Negative self-talk the challenge is persistent negative thoughts undermining the affirmations. Your solution acknowledge the negative thoughts, then consciously replace them with more positive affirmations. Emotional resistance the challenge could be feeling uncomfortable or emotional when stating affirmations. Solution recognize these emotions as part of the healing process and continue with the practice.
Speaker 1:Impatience Challenge Expecting immediate results Solution Understand that building self-love and confidence is a gradual process and requires patience. Lack of focus Challenge Getting distracted while repeating affirmations Solution Create a quiet, dedicated space for your affirmation practice to minimize distraction. Dedicated space for your affirmation practice to minimize distraction. Comparison with others Challenge comparing oneself to others and feeling inadequate Solution include affirmations that reinforce your unique strengths and individuality. Low self-esteem Challenge deep-seated issues with self-worth Solution pair affirmations with other self-care practices, such as journaling or therapy, to address underlying issues.
Speaker 1:So here are some examples of daily affirmation practices you can have a morning routine. Spend five minutes each morning repeating affirmations in front of a mirror. You can have an affirmation journal where you write down your affirmations daily in a dedicated journal. You can have visual reminders, which is something like placing sticky notes with affirmations on your mirror fridge or computer basically anywhere where you would see them regularly. I used to put my vision board right above my light switch, so every time I turned the light on or off, they were right there subconsciously and I was able to grab a glimpse of something on that vision board.
Speaker 1:Affirmation apps. This is huge. Use apps that send you daily affirmation reminders. Applications like I am are great. There are a couple more that I can't think off the top of my head, but I'll make sure I put that in the description so you guys can click away, because I have been using them for years and I never get sick of them. The last one is meditation. Incorporate affirmations into your meditation practice for deeper impact. Now, by integrating these affirmations and addressing common challenges, you can gradually build a sense of self-love and confidence.
Speaker 1:Let's chat about overcoming resistance to affirmations. Now. We need to understand and overcome skepticism about positive affirmations and we need to develop strategies for dealing with inner resistance and negative self-talk. So first, imagine affirmations as your personal cheerleader. When you're skeptical, treat them like trying out a new friend. Give them a chance and notice how they make you feel Like any good friend. Positive affirmations aim to lift your spirits and help you see the brighter side of things. Let's talk about a couple strategies for dealing with inner resistance and negative self-talk. So picture your mind as a garden, a big, beautiful garden. Negative thoughts are like weeds they pop up, they're going to try to ruin them. But affirmations act as your gardener, pulling out those weeds. And when your mind says I can't, your affirmation is the gardener says you can Be patient. Patient, keep weeding and soon your mental garden will be full of positivity.
Speaker 1:Okay, so let's jump into affirmations for body positivity. Since we're talking about that positivity, you feel me fostering a positive relationship with one's body through affirmations and challenging societal beauty standards with self-affirmations. So some examples of these affirmations could be for self-acceptance I love and accept my body as it is today. Gratitude I am grateful for my body and all it does for me. Respect I treat my body with kindness and respect. Nourishment I nourish my body with healthy food and positive thoughts. Appreciation I appreciate the unique qualities that make my body special. Comfort I feel comfortable and at home in my body. Patience I am patient with my body and it changes. Sometimes I got to catch some of them. You know what I mean, because we're human and sometimes you're going to think negative and you're going to think less of yourself. But the main thing is remembering and catching that you are going away, that you don't want to go and jumping right on back.
Speaker 1:Okay, so let's challenge societal beauty standards with self-affirmations. For uniqueness you could say I celebrate my uniqueness and refuse to conform to societal beauty standards. For individual beauty my beauty is defined by my individuality, not by society's standards. For self-worth my worth is not determined by my appearance. For inner beauty my inner beauty shines through, making me beautiful in every way. For strength my body is strong, capable and perfect in its own way. For confidence I am confident in my body and embrace its natural shape and authenticity. I choose to be authentically myself rather than striving for an unrealistic ideal. So some examples of daily affirmation practices could be mirror work Spend a few minutes each day looking in the mirror and repeating body positive affirmations. Guys, I sit in a mirror naked with my little bride painting my little Savage Fenty. My love Vera. I sing my favorite songs and I just be silly like a little kid. I dance around, I clean Like I just literally do whatever makes me feel good and, even though it might seem silly, I feel better after that.
Speaker 1:Another one is affirmation cards. Now, if you're not sure about affirmation cards, you can go to Barnes Noble. I feel better after that. Another one is affirmation cards. Now, if you're not sure about affirmation cards, you can go to Barnes and Noble. I did this recently. I went there to chill out for a little bit, get some work done, and there are literally morning mantras and affirmation cards that you could buy between $5 to $15. And you don't have to give it no thought. You literally just pull a card in the morning and you read it out loud while you're drinking your coffee, while you're eating your cereal, your oatmeal, and you keep it moving. But it does help, okay. So create a set of affirmation cards and read one each daily, so you don't have to create them. If you think that's a bit too much, go to the store, go on Amazon and literally put in affirmation cards and you could carry around with them. They carry them around with you. Excuse me, they're not that big. You could get the small ones. It could fit in your backpack and all of that.
Speaker 1:Another thing again is the gratitude journal and with that you can write down three things you appreciate about your body. Every night, you can have mindful affirmations. Incorporate body positive affirmations into your mindfulness or meditation practice. Visual reminders, place affirmations on your bathroom mirror or refrigerator to see them frequently throughout the day. By consistently practicing these affirmations, you can cultivate a positive relationship with your body and challenge harmful societal beauty standards.
Speaker 1:So let's chat about affirmations for overcoming obstacles. When you use affirmation as a tool for resilience in the face of challenges, you are going to have all of these things, and there are seven of them Strength, resilience, courage, perseverance, resourcefulness, calmness and self-beauty. So let's go, do them. For strength you can say I am strong and capable of overcoming any obstacle. For resilience I bounce back from setbacks with ease and determination. Another one I like to say is I don't have losses, I have lessons, baby. For courage I face challenges with courage and confidence. And I also like to say I am okay with being uncomfortable, right. So for perseverance I have the perseverance to keep going, no matter what. Please remember, guys, if you are at your lowest, there is no way lower you can go. If you are at the bottom, why would you want to stay there? For resourcefulness I find creative solutions to every problem I encounter. For calmness I remain calm and focused in the face of adversity. For self-belief I believe in my ability to handle whatever comes my way.
Speaker 1:Now let's talk about turning negative situations into opportunities for growth through positive affirmations. So you have to think about growth mindset you can say every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow and learn. For positivity I find the silver lining in every difficult situation. For adaptability I adapt to change with grace. And positivity. For learning I learn valuable lessons from every setback. Remember, guys no losses, just lessons. Opportunity I see obstacles as stepping stones to success. Remember, with everything that you experience, there is always a lesson or something that you learned in that. For empowerment I am empowered by the challenges I overcome. And for optimism I approach every situation with optimism and hope. So examples of daily affirmation processes are the same your morning routine start your day by reciting affirmations focused on resilience and growth. Your affirmation journal write down affirmations each morning and reflect on them at night. Visual reminders place affirmations in your workplace or home, where you see them often. Meditation incorporate affirmations into your meditation practice to reinforce a positive mindset and reflection at the end of each day, reflect on how you applied your affirmations to overcome challenges. By regularly practicing these affirmations, you can build resilience, turn negative situations into opportunities for growth and maintain a positive outlook in the face of obstacles.
Speaker 1:Okay, so last one affirmations and meditation for mindfulness. We're going to chat about incorporating affirmations into meditation practices and enhancing mindfulness with the power of positive self affirmations. So, affirmations and meditation and mindfulness with incorporating affirmations into meditation practices. We have to focus so we can say things like I am focused and present in this moment. We need peace so we can say I am at peace with myself and the world around me. We need calmness. I breathe in calmness and excel tension. We need grounding. I am grounded and connected to the earth. We need inner strength. I draw strength from my inner core. We need to let go. I release all that no longer serves me. And we need presence. I am fully present and engaged in the now. So let's talk about some enhancing mindfulness with the power of positive self-affirmations.
Speaker 1:With awareness, we can say I am aware of my thoughts and emotions without judgment. For acceptance I accept myself and my feelings without resistance. For compassion I treat myself and others with kindness and compassion. For clarity my mind is clear and I see things as they are. For balance I maintain a balance between my mind, body and spirit. For gratitude. I am grateful for this moment and all it offers, for patience. I am patient with myself and the process of growth.
Speaker 1:So some examples of meditation and mindfulness practices with affirmations is breath focus meditations you basically begin by focusing on your breath and with each inhale, silently repeat I am calm. With each exhale, say I release stress. So usually literally you're going to go I am calm, I release stress, I am calm, I release stress. The second one is body scan meditation. Start at your feet and work your way up Mentally affirming I am grateful for my quote, unquote body part as you go. So I am grateful for my feet, I am grateful for my calves, I am grateful for my knees, I am grateful for my thighs, I am grateful for my hips, I am grateful for my booty and so on. Okay, so the third one is loving, kindness meditation. Repeat affirmations such as may I be happy, may I be healthy, may I be safe, may I live with ease. Okay, just be in the now and love on yourself, be gentle on yourself, be kind to yourself.
Speaker 1:You can also have guided visualization, which is you visualize a place of peace and repeat affirmations like I am at peace and I am safe. You can also have affirmation-based meditation, which is choosing a single affirmation and repeat it slowly and mindfully, throughout the meditation session. I also use the affirmation-based meditation when I am caught up in my thoughts or I keep thinking about something negatively over and over and over again. I'll say that one specific meditation or like a scripture or something like that to get my mind off of those negative thoughts. You can also do mindful walking and with each step you silently repeat affirmations like I am grounded and I am present. You can have gratitude meditation, and that's when you sit quietly and focus on things you are grateful for affirming. I am grateful for quote unquote the specific aspect in my life. So I am grateful for my children, I am grateful for my home, I am grateful for my career, I am grateful for life and et cetera. By integrating these affirmations into your meditation mindfulness practice, you can enhance your sense of inner peace, presence and positivity.
Speaker 1:And, last but not least, guys, measure your progress in celebrating success, track your personal development through affirmations and recognize and celebrate milestones in the self-love journey. I know this is specifically difficult for overachievers because as soon as they finish something, they're like, ok, what's next? You know they graduate today and tomorrow they're signing up for the next degree. They're like, ok, what's next? You know they graduate today and tomorrow they're signing up for the next degree. And you know, sometimes you have to physically sit your behind down, go take yourself out to dinner, go buy you that dress or them shoes. You want to know that belt or that wallet. Fellas, go on a little trip. You know what I mean. Spoil yourself whichever way you think you want to and literally just enjoy and soak and appreciate your accomplishments.
Speaker 1:Okay, you can also have affirmation communities and support. You can connect with like-minded individuals in the affirmation community and your group support enhances the effectiveness of positive affirmations. So I want you guys to understand that everybody is not going to understand where you're coming from. Everybody is not going to understand why you're chanting to yourself. Everybody is not going to understand why you're writing in your journal. Everybody ain't going to understand why you got crystals or why you want to remove yourself from certain people because they toxic as hell and it's not their business too and it's not your place to force it on them. You have to understand that, even with all the quirkiness or the weirdness or the the differentness in you, everybody has their tribe, everybody has their people and, unfortunately, sometimes we don't know who those people are. But it is up to you to keep striving and living in your truth and doing what you have to do to find those people, and those people typically will come to you.
Speaker 1:So think of positive affirmations like a team sport. When you're part of a group, it's like having teammates cheering you on. Their encouragement and shared positive vibes create a powerful atmosphere, making your affirmations more effective. It's like a group huddle where everyone boosts each other's spirits, making the journey to self-love feel like a team sport. Now remember, guys, we can love on the whole entire world everybody in our community, in our family, our friends as much as we want to, but we need to start giving ourselves the same love that we give out to the world. We need to start talking to ourselves the same way we talk to these folks. We need to start setting those boundaries. We need to start having discernment and we need to start realizing that us ourselves is worthy of all of the things that we give people and want back. Okay, so when you love yourself through and through. Please know it is never in vain, because it's never nothing else to expect, because you deserve the love that you give others. So, as always, guys, always love.
